Currents Wraps Up 'The Death We Seek' Tour in Philly with a Memorable Night

Philadelphia, PACurrents, the Connecticut-based metalcore outfit, hit the stage at The Foundry in Philadelphia on June 9th, delivering an exhilarating performance on their 'The Death We Seek' tour. This marked their latest stop in a series of shows unveiling songs from their newest album, "The Death We Seek."

The band set the small bar-like venue ablaze with a blend of new tracks and classic hits. The room, filled with enthusiastic metal heads, erupted into mosh pits as Currents kicked off their set. They masterfully weaved six tracks from their new album, including the emotionally charged "So Alone," into a setlist filled with fan favorites like "Monsters" from "The Way It Ends" album.

Lead vocalist Brian Wille describes "So Alone" as a journey into isolation, touching on the pain of disconnection and the repetitive nature of our life choices. This deep, emotional resonance combined with the band's high-energy performance left the crowd both amazed.

The tour, named after their latest album "The Death We Seek," commenced on May 11th in Worcester, and Philadelphia was its final stop. The album, a hard-hitting exploration of personal and social themes, was released on May 5th via SharpTone, adding a new chapter to Currents' evolving sound.

The Philadelphia gig was more than just a Currents show, though. Openers Like Moths to Flames, Invent Animate, Unity TX, and Foreign Hands took the stage throughout the tour, delivering blistering performances that perfectly primed the crowd for the metalcore madness to follow.

Invent Animate, a notable act on the tour's line-up, shared the stage with Currents on the Philadelphia stop, offering an impressive performance that further fueled the night's energetic atmosphere.

Currents, comprised of Brian Wille on vocals, Chris Wiseman and Ryan Castaldi on guitars, Christian Pulgarin on bass, and Matt Young on drums, have undoubtedly made a significant mark with their latest tour and album. The 'The Death We Seek' tour served not only as a showcase of their new material but also a celebration of the raw, authentic metalcore sound that they've cultivated over the years.

As the dust settles from the mosh pits, fans are left eagerly anticipating what the next chapter holds for this hard-hitting band. From small club bars to the world's largest stages, Currents continues to redefine the boundaries of the metalcore genre.

For those who missed out on the live action, their new album "The Death We Seek" is available for streaming and purchase on their official website. The tour may have ended, but the ripples it caused in the metalcore scene are far from over.
